Mike Hart is back at Michigan following a weekend stint in an Indiana hospital, and has released a statement about his health.
The running backs coach collapsed on the sideline following an Indiana touchdown, and was later carted off the field, and taken to a local hospital. Michigan players gave Hart the game ball, and Jim Harbaugh said Hart was in the Wolverines’ thoughts and prayers, and his health is the most important thing.
“During the game Mike had a medical emergency, he’s in stable condition and he’s going to stay overnight here in Bloomington for observation,” head coach Jim Harbaugh said. “Talking about Mike and his health, all our prayers go out to him.”
Hart is Michigan’s all-time leading rusher with 5,040 yards.
He thanked Indiana doctors and staff, and both teams’ medical staffs and support throughout the ordeal.
“Health-wise, I am back in Ann Arbor and things are trending in a positive direction,” Hart wrote in a statement. “I look forward to rejoining our team soon.”
