Mike Locksley and the Maryland Terrapins were jilted by Kevin Steele recently, after the reported new defensive coordinator for the team left for the same position at Miami.
Now, though, Locksley is continuing to fill out his defensive staff, and he’s reportedly bringing in a former Alabama player.
Per FootballScoop.com, Maryland is hiring Wes Neighbors:
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Locksley is adding Wes Neighbors to the Maryland defensive staff, likely to work with the secondary.
Most recently the associate head coach and outside linebackers coach in 2021 on Billy Napier’s Louisiana staff, Neighbors is a former University of Alabama player under Nick Saban who’s had coaching stops at his alma mater, as well as Florida Atlantic and University of South Florida.
Neighbors played safety and contributed on special teams during his time with the Tide from 2008 to 2011, winning 2 national championships under Nick Saban.
