Mississippi State announced Friday it had scheduled a two-game, home-and-home series with Tulane. The Bulldogs will host the Green Wave at Davis Wade Stadium on Oct. 3, 2020 and will make the return trip to Yulman Stadium in New Orleans on Oct. 7, 2023.

Upon the release of the news, Mississippi State Director of Athletics Scott Stricklin had this statement prepared:

“It’s been a pleasure working with Tulane AD Troy Dannen to renew the longstanding football series between the Bulldogs and Green Wave. New Orleans is a great destination for our Bulldog fans and a place we hope to get to more often in the future.”

Interestingly enough, between the two schools, Tulane has the edge in all-time SEC Championships won by a 3-to-1 margin; although Mississippi State holds an edge in the all-time series by a margin of 30-26-2. The two schools last faced off in 2007 and first met in 1901.

Tulane was a founding member of the SEC and participated in the league from 1932-1966 before exiting the conference. The Green Wave won the SEC in 1934, 1939 and 1949.
