Mississippi State will sport a crisp, clean look that honors an iconic moment from its football history to kick off conference play in 2025.
In a video shared on social media Thursday, Mississippi State revealed that it will wear a “White Out” uniform combination in its SEC home opener against visiting Tennessee. The uniform — white pants, white tops, and a white helmet with the interlocking “MSU” logo — honors the 2000 “Snow Bowl” win over Texas A&M in the Independence Bowl. Mississippi State edged Texas A&M 43-41 in overtime a quarter century ago.
Mississippi State is looking to bounce back from a difficult 2024 campaign in which it finished with the worst record in the SEC. The Bulldogs are aiming for their first winning season since going 9-4 in 2022 under the late Mike Leach and Zach Arnett.
The Bulldogs lost 33-14 at Tennessee as part of a 3-game losing streak to close out last season. Tennessee is currently ranked No. 24 in the AP poll, so this should be another challenging matchup for coach Jeff Lebby and his squad.
Mississippi State begins the 2025 season with an in-state road game at Southern Miss on Aug. 30 (12 p.m. ET on ESPN). Mississippi State leads the all-time series 18-12-1 against Southern Miss with 6 consecutive victories. In the last meeting, Mississippi State defeated visiting Southern Miss 41-20 on Nov. 18, 2023.
