Mississippi State is making some changes to its coaching staff ahead of the 2022 season.

On Monday, the Bulldogs officially added an inside receivers coach to Mike Leach’s staff, per a release from the school.

There are also several role and title changes, which are summarized below:

Drew Hollingshead, who boasts more than a decade’s worth of experience in the record-setting Air Raid offense, has been named the new inside wide receivers coach.

Other role changes include Matt Brock coaching all linebackers, Eric Mele serving as special teams coordinator, defensive coordinator Zach Arnett coaching safeties, and Jason Washington coaching running backs. In addition, outside wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. adds pass game coordinator to his duties, while offensive line coach Mason Miller adds run game coordinator to his role.

Leach issued a statement on the changes:

“We’re excited to have our 2022 coaching staff roles finalized here in Starkville,” Leach said. “I’m thrilled for our program’s direction with this staff of hard-working football coaches and outstanding recruiters who share a unified vision for achieving success. Our players are already hard at work in the weight room this winter preparing for next season, and we can’t wait to get back on the field in a couple of months for spring practices.”

Will that help the Bulldogs improve on last year’s 7-6 record? We’ll see how the team looks this spring!
