Mississippi State K Brandon Ruiz makes 73-yard field goal during workout

Mississippi State kicker Brandon Ruiz was one of the best kickers in the SEC last season.

In his first year as a Bulldog, Ruiz made 10 of his 12 field-goal attempts and was a perfect 24-for-24 on extra point attempts.

Now, he’s gearing up for an even better 2021 campaign. As you can see below, he showed off an impressive video on Twitter on Monday evening of him drilling a 73-yard field goal during a workout:

Obviously, that’s not a game situation, and he doesn’t have pads on. Still, it’s impressive to absolutely drill a kick like that the way Ruiz did.

Mississippi State’s offense figures to take a step forward in Year 2 of Mike Leach’s reign. We’ll see if that leads to more opportunities for Ruiz to show off his power.
