Mississippi State is entering a new era under head coach Chris Jans, who took over for Ben Howland after the 2021-22 season.

Now, several Bulldogs are exploring their options in the NCAA transfer portal ahead of the 2022-23 season.

On Sunday, freshman forward Alden Applewhite took to Instagram to reveal he was entering his name in the portal to explore the possibility of playing for a new school:

Applewhite was a 3-star member of Mississippi State’s 2021 recruiting class. He appeared in 2 games this past season, scoring 2 total points and grabbing 4 rebounds.

He joins a growing list of Bulldogs in the portal this offseason:

Where Applewhite ends up playing next year remains to be seen.
