Mistake to come out? Mel Kiper has Bo Scarbrough as late pick ‘I think he can make a team’
Bo Scarbrough never quite lived up to the hype at Alabama, outside of a few outstanding showings during the 2016 season. After getting hurt in the national championship game loss to Clemson, the Tide running back decided to return to school instead of leaving early for the NFL.
His 2017 season didn’t go as expected, however, and Scarbrough averaged a career-low 4.8 yards per carry last season. Despite his overall lack of production, the junior declared early for the 2018 NFL Draft along with four of his teammates.
During a media teleconference Thursday, ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper gave a concerning assessment when it came to the junior running back. According to Kiper, Scarbrough is a fringe NFL player, likely to be selected in the later rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft according to Charlie Potter of 247Sports.

There’s a chance Scarbrough could be the next great late-round running back to emerge as a star at the game’s highest level, however, his injury history has to be a concern for NFL franchises. A former five-star recruit, Scarbrough was one of the nation’s top running back prospects in the 2014 recruiting cycle.
