Mizzou has gone into Alabama to land its newest commitment.

Jaylen Brown, a defensive lineman from Madison, Alabama, has verbally pledged to play for Eli Drinkwitz’s program. He shared the big news on social media, posting a note with the following:

“AG2G after talk with my mom I’ve decided it’s time to commit! I’d like to thank all coaches that have recruited me. Thank you to my mom for supporting me throughout the recruiting process. Thank you to Coach Burke for pushing me everyday to be the best I could be and all my James Clemens Jets family! Thank you to Coach Peoples, and Coach Drinkwitz for believing in me. That being said I’m committing to Mizzou Football! #MIZ #SEC #GoJets|”

Out of James Clemens High School, Brown is listed as measuring 6-6, 235 pounds. He is rated 3-stars, the No. 44 recruit in the state of Alabama and No. 120 defensive lineman in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports. Brown chose the Tigers over scholarship offers from 13 other schools, including Maryland and Houston.

With Brown on board, Mizzou now has 13 commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Tigers fans can get a preview of what Brown brings to Columbia by checking out his highlights below, via Hudl:
