Mizzou and Louisiana will get after it a bit earlier than planned due to the weather forecast.
The Tigers and Ragin’ Cajuns had been scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. ET. Due to “extreme heat” in the Columbia forecast, the game has now been moved up to 1 p.m. ET, a noon kick locally.
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our student-athletes and the game-day experience for our fans,” Mizzou Director of Athletics Laird Veatch said in a released statement. “We are incredibly grateful to our fans for their understanding and flexibility as we make this adjustment. With extreme heat in the forecast, especially later in the afternoon, we believe it’s necessary to move kickoff earlier in the day to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience possible for everyone who will be part of Saturday’s sold-out game at Memorial Stadium.
Mizzou entered the AP Top 25 following a thrilling win over Kansas in Week 2, the long-awaited renewal of the Border War rivalry on the gridiron. The Tigers will seek to improve to 3-0 before opening SEC play against South Carolina in Week 4.
