Marcus Scott II signed as part of Mizzou’s 2022 class, but the defensive back is looking at playing his first college football game elsewhere.
Scott announced Sunday that he has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal, which recently opened for undergraduate entry. Scott thanked Eli Drinkwitz for running a first-call operation but feels it is in his best interest to explore his options elsewhere.

Scott’s decision comes after he did not play in 2022 due to injury. He was granted a medical redshirt, which gives him 4 remaining seasons of eligibility. The Mizzou roster lists him as 5-11, 180 pounds.
Out of Conroe (Texas) High School, Scott was rated 4-stars, the No. 40 cornerback, No. 55 Lone Star State recruit and No. 384 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports composite. Scott picked up 5 offers, choosing Mizzou over LSU, Texas Tech, Houston and UNLV.
We’ll see what’s next for Scott.
