The first meeting of border rivals in over a decade did not disappoint.

All week long, everyone on both sides of the Mizzou-Kansas Border War told anyone who would listen that they didn’t like the other. The game, which hadn’t been played since Mizzou left to join the SEC following the 2011 season, was billed as one of the best on the docket for Week 2. And while the Tigers and Jayhawks went back and forth on the field, the fans in Columbia did their part in the stands.

That is, until one fan was let onto the field during a break for a chance to kick a field goal for $25,000.

Forty-five yards, get 25 grand.

This particular Mizzou fan wasn’t interested in the money.

Instead, he fired his kick directly at the Kansas sideline and lifted up his shirt to reveal an NSFW message directed right at the Jayhawks.

Mizzou went on to win the game 42-31. Quarterback Beau Pribula completed 30 of his 39 pass attempts for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Tigers outscored Kansas 21-10 in the second half.

KU jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter, but the Jayhawks were outscored 36-10 from the second quarter on. Mizzou outgained KU 588-254 in the game and converted 4 fourth-down attempts along the way.

The Tigers took the lead on a 27-yard pass from Pribula to Brett Norfleet with 4:14 to play, then sealed the win with a 63-yard rushing score from Jamal Roberts with 1:49 remaining.
