The transfer portal is set to open for undergraduate entry soon, which has many players thinking about their future and potential opportunities elsewhere. A Mizzou tight end announced Thursday that he will be entering the portal after 2 seasons with the Tigers.
Gavin McKay tweeted he will transfer to use his 3 remaining seasons of eligibility.

McKay’s Mizzou bio says he did not play in either of the past 2 seasons. He applied a redshirt to 2021, his freshman season. He made the SEC’s Academic Honor Roll for 2021-22.
McKay, from Memphis, was a member of the 2021 recruiting class. He was rated 3-stars, the No. 28 Tennessee recruit, No. 54 tight end and No. 1,030 prospect overall nationally.
McKay signed with Mizzou over offers from 7 other schools, including Kansas, Indiana and Memphis. He was recruited by former MU assistants who are now at SMU (Casey Woods) and Purdue (Marcus Johnson).
Editor’s note: The article has been updated to reflect that the next transfer portal has been moved up from May 1 to April 15.
