The Kentucky Wildcats snapped their 31-year losing streak against the Florida Gators in impressive fashion on Saturday night, picking up a 27-16 victory in The Swamp.
This has been a long time coming for the Wildcats, and fans reacted by rioting in the streets of Lexington.
Even MLB legend Chipper Jones, who is a big Gator fan, liked what he saw from the Wildcats, congratulating the winning team on Twitter:
Congrats to the Kentucky Wildcat football team. It’s been 32 yrs and u deserve it. U have been the FAR SUPERIOR team to Florida for the past 2 YEARS. Never thought I would hear my UK cheerleader wife gloat during the fall, in my lifetime. My how times have changed in G’ville!

Every streak is made to be broken, but Gator fans weren’t thinking this would be the year it came crashing down.
There’s a lot of work still to be done in Gainesville, and now Dan Mullen’s squad will have to try to regroup to prevent Kentucky from starting a streak of its own next year.
