NCAA announces decision on president Mark Emmert’s future

The NCAA isn’t the most popular organization on the planet, but it is making some big changes.
On Tuesday night, the Board of Governors reaffirmed its commitment to changing the name, image and likeness rules.
It announced the commitment via Twitter:

But, there was something else buried at the bottom of that press release. Yes, that’s right, NCAA president Mark Emmert’s contract was extended through 2025:

The fact that it was a unanimous vote is somewhat baffling, as Emmert is one of the most embattled figures in all of sports.
Emmert’s name recently came up in connection with LSU for a potential return to the school as president. It seems that is off the table with this latest news from the NCAA.
