Netflix documentary shows fascinating talks between Brian Kelly, Garrett Nussmeier’s agent
A new Netflix documentary on SEC football was released Tuesday and gives the passionate legions of SEC fans an inside look on the sport.
The documentary, called SEC Football: Any Given Saturday, was released just a few weeks before the 2025 season. SEC fans who absolutely can’t wait for the season to kick off have something to grab onto right now in early August, and one of the many aspects of the documentary is an inside look on LSU’s delicate situation between head coach and quarterback.
The head coach is Brian Kelly and the quarterback is Garrett Nussmeier, who just happened to have the same agent in Trace Armstrong. A conversation from the documentary between Kelly and Armstrong was released that shows how dicey it can be for a guy like Armstrong.
In the conversation, viewers see Kelly driving in his car and talking to Armstrong, who has to walk a tightrope in making sure Kelly knows he’s doing right by him while also making it clear to Kelly that he has to do right by Nussmeier, who could be on the verge of making millions in the NFL.
Ultimately, Nussmeier opted to return for another year at LSU after his breakout 2024 season in which he threw for over 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns. It wasn’t an easy decision for Nussmeier and it wasn’t an easy situation for Kelly or Armstrong, but the 3 of them made it work.
Here is the clip from the documentary of the conversation between Kelly and Armstrong:
The conversation is just one of many scenes that SEC fans should enjoy from the riveting documentary.
