A high school football playoff game in Pleasantville, New Jersey, was suspended after gun shots rang out in the stands during the third quarter, according to WPVI-TV from Philadelphia, Pa.
The game was between the Camden Panthers and the Pleasantville Greyhounds, and around 8:30 p.m. ET with Camden leading 6-0, a gunman sent rounds of bullets into the stands. Witnesses described about half a dozen shots were fired from the bleachers.
A young boy and an adult were injured, according to the report. Both victims were airlifted to hospitals. The boy was taken to a hospital in Philadelphia and treated for “some serious injuries.” Witnesses described a chaotic scene as shots rang out separating children from their parents and adults holding young children tight so they wouldn’t be trampled by fleeing fans.
Investigators recovered a firearm in the bleachers, but they are still working to track down the shooter.
