New Year’s hangover? Auburn looking rough in first half of Peach Bowl, losing to UCF
Maybe Adrian Killins was right when he called out Auburn.
If you missed it, the sophomore UCF player called out the Tigers a few weeks ago leading up to the Peach Bowl, claiming Auburn lacked speed and was in for a “rude awakening” in the upcoming game.
After watching the first half of the bowl game, it’s hard to argue against him.
The undefeated Knights, the only remaining undeafted team in FBS, head into halftime of the Peach Bowl up 10-6 following a sloppy first half of play. While Auburn took the early lead in the game and it took the Knights a quarter to adjust to the speed of the Tigers, UCF dominated the second quarter and appear poised to potentially steal this one from the SEC West champion in the second half.
Auburn has also been flagged six times for 46 yards in the first half of the game.
The reaction to the game has been pretty entertaining, as some are questioning if they are still drunk from New Year’s Eve:

UCF is as talented as Auburn just not as deep As far as the speed is concerned I think both teams are fast This one is gonna be better than a lot expected

UCF on pace to pull a Clemson
A Clemson is defined as sacking Auburn more than 10 times

All week you just got the sense from everyone around Auburn they could just show up and bully UCF in this game like Georgia did to Hawaii in the 2008 Sugar Bowl. That hasn't happened at all. UCF has looked like the team that wants this more right now.

May be time to stop asking if Jarrett Stidham is going pro after the season. He's not exactly lighting up UCF's DBs
