The 2018 NFL Draft may be remembered as the year of the walk-on.

NFL.com draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah shared his latest mock draft Thursday morning. Leading up to the draft, the media has had its fun speculating which quarterback Cleveland will likely take at No. 1. Jeremiah thinks it will be Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield, who famously started his career as a walk-on. Whether it be No. 1 or later in the draft, be prepared to see a lot of Mayfield’s recreation of Brett Favre’s famous draft day photo.

Another former walk-on continuing to get first-round buzz is South Carolina TE Hayden Hurst. In Jeremiah’s mock draft, the Dallas Cowboys opt to replace one former SEC tight in, Tennessee great Jason Witten, with another, Hurst. The Cowboys have pick No. 19. The NFL Network’s Mike Mayock recently paired Hurst with the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 29 in his mock draft.

The first SEC name off the board in Jeremiah’s mock draft is Georgia LB Roquan Smith at No. 8 to the Chicago Bears. Shortly following Smith is Alabama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick at No. 10 to the Oakland Raiders.

In total, Jeremiah has seven SEC players going in Round 1. His full mock draft can be found here.

Do you agree with Jeremiah that Smith will be the first SEC player off the board?
