A day after sending a salty tweet in reference to Jadeveon Clowney not meeting with reporters, the Houston Chronicle’s NFL writer John McClain intends to apologize to the third-year pro Wednesday.

In case you missed it, McClain sent this tweet out Tuesday after Clowney dodged the media after the Texans’ latest practice:

The tweet was obviously a reference to Clowney’s five injuries, two of which required surgery, since arriving at the NFL level after being the No. 1 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. Following the injuries, Clowney has missed 15 of his 32 games with the Texans.

After the tweet went viral, McClain had some second thoughts – especially after his wife saw the tweet.

Props to McClain for manning up after having regrets on his Clowney tweet.
