Heading into Saturday night’s SEC Championship Game, the status of one of Alabama’s top defenders remains uncertain, at least officially.
In an appearance on Saturday morning’s ESPN College GameDay, Nick Saban was asked about the status of Crimson Tide linebacker Christian Harris. He said a decision has not been made yet.
“We’ll make a gameday decision on this,” Saban said. “He’s been able to practice this week. It’s just, does he feel and we feel he can go out there and effectively do his job relative to the injury, the shoulder injury that he has.”
Harris exited the Arkansas game after injuring his shoulder on the first defensive play of the game. The sophomore standout has recorded 65 tackles (44 solo), 5.0 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and 2 pass breakups.
We’ll see what the final decision is on Harris. The SEC Championship Game is set for 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on CBS.
