Nick Saban understands Steve Sarkisian and Texas are capable of big plays, and ahead of Saturday’s showdown in Texas.

On the SEC coaches media teleconference, Saban shared how the Longhorns develop big-play potential.

“The first thing is that they have great balance,” Saban said. “They do a really good job of running the ball. A lot of big plays they make come off the run game with play-action passes. … They’ve got good players to do it. It’s a combination of those things, I think. The fact that they have great balance, you can’t play one-dimensional against them.”

Alabama has plenty of leadership from the likes of Henry To’o To’o and Bryce Young, but Will Anderson Jr. also delivers his contributions for other teammates beyond the box score.

“Will does a great job. He sets a great example for everybody… the other players respect him. He embraces the role of leadership,” Saban said. “We have other guys who do well, too. … Those guys have all been really good leaders for us this year.”
