Alabama rolled into Tiger Stadium on a mission and that mission was to embarrass LSU.

Well, mission accomplished as Alabama put up 55 points and surrendered just 17 in the program’s latest win over the Tigers.

The final 55-17 lopsided result came after the Crimson Tide took their foot off the gas as LSU led 45-14 at halftime.

The nation’s No.1 team improved to 9-0 with this win and have now avenged both losses from last season in consecutive weeks.

Following the game, Nick Saban was asked to share his thoughts on his team’s performance against LSU.

“I think we played better in the second half. I think it was good experience for us,” Saban said. “I think we played really well offensively in the game and sorta controlled the tempo of the game offensively. And I thought we played better on defense in the second half.

“We made some adjustments and the kids responded. Just got to keep on keeping on.”

Saban on the emotions of this game:

“You want guys to play with emotion but you really don’t want them to be emotional because when you get emotional, you make bad decisions. There was a lot of emotions on both sides and we don’t like our guys to talk to the other players and not get involved in all that. You win with class and that’s something we certainly want our players to do.”

Saban on the importance of local Louisiana players like Devonta Smith winning at LSU:

“No question about it, I think we have four guys in the front seven from this area and Smitty, obviously, is an outstanding player for us. Just love him as a person and a player, he’s a great competitor, I’m sure this means a lot to him.”
