Nick Saban and Alabama are preparing for a big game this week at Tennessee, and the Crimson Tide are trying to get Bryce Young back from a shoulder injury that he suffered 2 weeks ago against Arkansas, which forced him to miss last week’s narrow win over Texas A&M.
Saban at his Monday press conference offered the latest update on Young.
“Bryce is getting re-evaluated today,” Saban said. “I don’t really know much, I haven’t talked to Doc since he did that. Hopefully we’re going to try to get him ready to play this week, but this is something that nobody can predict how this is going to give him an opportunity to go out and be able to do what he needs to do. We’ll see as the week progresses, but I don’t have an update much more than that.”
Saban will likely be asked for a daily update about Young until or unless he announces that Young would start in Knoxville. Saban immediately after the Texas A&M game referred to some of the mistakes Milroe made in the game, and talked up the Vols.
“Tennessee’s got a really good team, hopefully we’ll get some of the things we did wrong fixed,” Saban said. “Maybe we’ll get the quarterback healthy, too.”
