Nick Saban is sidelined from Alabama practice after testing positive for COVID-19, but his media scheduled hasn’t scheduled. Saban held his weekly press conference on Wednesday and Zoom’d into his weekly radio show on Thursday.
As his daughter noted Wednesday, Saban has been able to watch Crimson Tide practices remotely. When asked about getting a different perspective of his team, Saban compared it to “watching film” and likened it to another famous UA coach’s approach to practice.
“It was a little interesting,” Saban said. “I guess that’s why Coach Bryant always stood up in that tower.”
We’ll see if Saban alters his approach to have a more Bear-like view of the team when he returns to the practice field.
Saban on watching practice via Zoom: "When you get the view from a thousand feet … it's like watching game film.
"It was a little interesting. I guess that's why Coach Bryant always stood up in that tower."
