Notre Dame is hosting Texas A&M on Saturday night looking for its first win of the 2025 season. The Aggies got the ball to start the game, and the Fighting Irish were able to force a punt.

On the punt, the Loghan Thomas was able to get through and block the punt, and Tae Johnson was able to pick it up and score a touchdown to put the Irish up early.

Notre Dame had an extra week to have to deal with the 27-24 loss to in Miami in Week 1, as the Fighting Irish had an early season bye in Week 2. The Aggies entered the game at 2-0, but haven’t looked quite like the offense many expected in the preseason.

This game is a rematch of last year’s season-opener, a game the Fighting Irish won 23-13. It is still only week 3 in the college football season, but this game is almost a must-win for Notre Dame.

An 0-2 start for the Fighting Irish would make it very difficult for the team to make it to the College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish don’t have the opportunity to win a conference championship, and these two losses would be to the two highest ranked teams on their schedule.
