Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is projecting an air of confidence as his team prepares for a major challenge vs. defending national champion Georgia in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Georgia is undefeated after defeating LSU 50-30 to claim the SEC title. Ohio State features stellar quarterback C.J. Stroud, a back-to-back Heisman Trophy finalist. It’ll be a fascinating clash between the Stroud-led offense and a stingy Georgia defense that has only allowed over 30 points once this season.
Ryan Day on @OhioStateFB's matchup vs Georgia:
"We know we have a huge challenge in Georgia, but that's kind of the way we want it. … We're going to swing as hard as we can in this game and CJ's our leader. He's going to lead the way." pic.twitter.com/6ZrgQnNkRn

Day isn’t denying the massive task but added that Ohio State will embrace this opportunity and Stroud will set the tone for the Buckeyes.
“We know we have a huge challenge in Georgia, but that’s kind of the way we want it,” Day said. “… We’re going to swing as hard as we can in this game and CJ’s our leader. He’s going to lead the way.”
Stroud has completed 235 of his 355 passes for 3,340 yards, 37 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, with a passer rating of 176.2. Meanwhile, the Georgia defense has tallied 10 interceptions and 26 sacks. Defensive back Christopher Smith leads the Bulldogs with 3 interceptions.
The Peach Bowl contest on New Year’s Eve is slated for an 8 p.m. ET kickoff and will be televised on ESPN. The winner will take on either No. 2 Michigan or No. 3 TCU in the national championship game. Also happening tonight is the launch of Ohio sports betting.
