Ohio State’s impressive attendance streak was snapped Saturday against Rutgers.

The Buckeyes 16-year streak of crowds larger than 100,000 is now no more. Ohio State announced an attendance of 93,057 against Rutgers. The last time Ohio State had less than 100,000 in attendance was in 2002 against Kent State.

In fairness, we wouldn’t want to watch Rutgers play either in the pouring rain, but it does speak to a bigger attendance problem in college football. Teams are constantly trying to combat dwindling attendance, and even Ohio State isn’t exempt from the issue.

The Buckeyes beat Rutgers 52-3 Saturday.
