Oklahoma landed a transfer pledge on Friday from former Tennessee tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, according to multiple reports.

Van Dorselaer is a rising sophomore with 3 years of eligibility remaining. He spent his true freshman season with the Vols, making appearances in every game, and he becomes the third new tight end added to the Oklahoma roster this offseason.

A 6-foot-5, 236-pounder from Southlake, Texas, Van Dorselaer signed with the Volunteers as a 4-star recruit from the Class of 2025. He was the 18th-ranked athlete in the class, according to the 247 Composite.

Both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State recruited him out of high school, as did other high-level SEC programs like Texas A&M and Alabama. But he committed to the Vols early in 2024 and never wavered.

As a true freshman, Van Dorselaer played in all 13 games. He saw extensive action off the bench in several games, but was mostly used as a run-blocker. In limited action down the field in the pass game, Van Dorselaer brought in 5 receptions for 23 yards.

He scored his first career touchdown on a 7-yard catch against ETSU on Sept. 6. He recorded his first career multi-catch game on Nov. 22 against Florida, when he caught 2 passes for 13 yards.

The first-year player was a bright spot during Tennessee’s annual spring game last year, catching 3 touchdowns in his unofficial debut with the Vols.

Van Dorselaer is the first commit for OU’s new tight ends coach Jason Witten. He joins Hayden Hansen (Florida) and Rocky Beers (Colorado State) as transfer additions for Witten’s room.
