Oklahoma an early favorite over Auburn in Week 4 lookahead line
The 13th-ranked Sooners face Temple on the road on Saturday. The 24th-ranked Tigers host South Alabama at home. If either is looking ahead to next week’s battle in Norman, disaster is looming.
Leave the looking ahead to the books. Assuming Oklahoma and Auburn handle their business in Week 3, it’ll set up a ranked-on-ranked SEC matchup in Week 4. And Vegas expects that game to be a tight one.
A lookahead line posted this week on FanDuel has the Sooners as an early 3.5-point favorite.
Oklahoma failed to cover a monstrous 39.5-point spread in its season-opener against Illinois State on Aug. 30, but the Sooners still won by 32 points.
In Week 2, OU hosted Michigan as a 4-point favorite in a night game that featured ESPN’s College GameDay. The Sooners pulled off a statement victory, sending Bryce Underwood and the Wolverines home with a 24-13 defeat.
Over its last 10 games, the Sooners are 4-6 against the spread. They are 23.5-point favorites over Temple this weekend, per FanDuel.
Auburn is in a similar spot. The Tigers won a tight game in convincing fashion and failed to cover a massive spread in a blowout. Auburn beat Baylor on the road by 14 points to open the season; it was just a 1-point favorite in the game. In Week 2, the Tigers beat Ball State by 39 points in a game they were favored by 43.
Hugh Freeze and the Tigers are 5-5 ATS over their last 10 games, which dates back to last season’s 27-21 loss at home to Oklahoma. Auburn is a 24.5-point favorite over South Alabama this weekend.
