Oklahoma cancels classes, moves exams for College Football Playoff game against Alabama
Oklahoma wants to help its football team beat SEC rival Alabama in any way possible on Dec. 19 in Norman, and so the school announced earlier this week that it’s going to try to help its student body in that pursuit.
With No. 8 seed Oklahoma getting ready to face the 9th-seeded Crimson Tide in a primetime clash on ABC and ESPN that will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, the school didn’t waste any time in announcing some very important changes that should help Sooners fans better get ready for the experience. On Monday, the day after the College Football Playoff schedule was unveiled, the university unveiled its own adjustments to its academic and campus operations.
With the OU-Bama battle kicking off at 7 p.m., Norman time, the Norman campus will suspend its normal academic and campus operations for both its students and employees on Dec. 19. That way, the path is cleared, so to speak, for the people who care so deeply about the result of the game on that Friday night.
The university announced that in-person classes on the Norman campus will be canceled on Dec. 19, and that the final exams schedule for that day will be adjusted, too.
Oklahoma’s social media account released this post on Monday explaining the details of all the changes that will be made on the day of the big game:
