Oklahoma is boosting its offensive line for SEC play with an offensive lineman who knows the conference.

Collin Kennedy of 247Sports reports that Michael Tarquin is in the Oklahoma student database as a graduate student. Tarquin arrives from USC, where he spent the 2023 season playing for Lincoln Riley. He entered the NCAA transfer portal in December.

This season, Tarquin started the first 7 games for USC. The Trojans then made a midseason change in the lineup. Tarquin returned to the starting lineup for the regular-season finale against UCLA due to an injury.

Tarquin brings 4 seasons of SEC experience to Norman as a former Florida offensive lineman. A North Marion standout from Ocala, Florida, Tarquin was a 4-star Class of 2019 recruit on the 247Sports Composite. He signed with Florida over Oklahoma, Miami and others.

Tarquin redshirted in 2019, making 3 appearances. He appeared in all 10 regular-season games of the 2020 season, which does not count against his eligibility due to the pandemic circumstances.

In 2021, Tarquin made his first 2 starts. He became a regular starter on the offensive line in 2022, starting 8 games, but missing time due to injury.

Oklahoma and Florida are not scheduled to meet in the 2024 regular season.
