Ole Miss alum, assistant coach Charles Clark reportedly leaving Oregon for Oxford
Matt Luke apparently wants to surround his program with as many Ole Miss alums as possible. For a coach that’s driven so hard by his love of Mississippi, that would appear to be a wise move.
According to Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated, Luke has managed to lure Oregon defensive back coach Charles Clark back to Oxford following successful stops at San Jose State, Colorado and, of course, in Eugene. Clark had been on staff at Oregon for one season, as he was hired by former Duck coach Willie Taggert and followed Jim Leavitt from Colorado.
Here’s Feldman’s tweet announcing the move by Ole Miss:

During his Ole Miss career, Clark registered 198 tackles, three interceptions and 12 pass breakups. He graduated from Ole Miss in 2007 and landing his first full-time coaching job in 2010 at San Jose State.
