Ole Miss just made a big pickup for its 2026 recruiting class.

Landon Barnes is the newest verbal pledge for Lane Kiffin‘s Rebels. The blue-chip edge defender from Texas joined the class on Monday.

Out of Duncanville (Texas) High School, Barnes is listed as measuring 6-4 and 245 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Barnes is rated 4-stars, the No. 18 edge defender, No. 22 player in the Lone Star State and No. 139 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.

As one of the top prospects in a highly recruited state, Barnes drew interest from coast to coast. During his recruitment, he picked up scholarship offers from 32 programs, including Arizona State, Baylor, Georgia, Colorado, Kentucky, SMU, LSU and Texas.

Barnes told Hayes Fawcett of On3 that he chose to play for Ole Miss over Ohio State and Washington.

With Barnes on board, Ole Miss now has 10 verbal commitments in its 2026 recruiting class, which currently ranks No. 55 nationally. Rebels fans can get a preview of what Barnes brings to Oxford by checking out highlights from his junior season in the clip below, via Hudl:
