When training camp opens in Oxford in the coming weeks, it appears the Rebels will be down an offensive lineman as redshirt freshman Luke Shouse is not currently with the team.

According to David Johnson of 247Sports, Shouse underwent shoulder surgery this summer and may be forced to go on a medical scholarship.

Shouse, a native of Nolensville, Tenn., signed with Ole Miss as a member of the 2020 recruiting cycle. Shouse did not see the field last season for the Rebels.

Here is his updated bio on the official Ole Miss team site:

HIGH SCHOOL: Rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN … Listed as the No. 25 offensive tackle from Tennessee … Ranked as the No. 77 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 30 from Tennessee by 247Sports … Helped the Raptors finish the 2019 season 13-2 with a berth in the Tennessee Class 6A title game … Chose Ole Miss over offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Army … Coached by Matt Daniels.
