Ole Miss lands transfer pledge from former Alabama starting edge
Former Alabama defensive lineman Jordan Renaud has committed to transfer to Ole Miss. Renaud confirmed the news to On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Thursday night.
The redshirt sophomore played in all 15 games for the Crimson Tide this past season. He made starts in the team’s final 3 games — the SEC Championship against Georgia, the first-round College Football Playoff win over Oklahoma, and the CFP quarterfinal game against Indiana.
He totaled 18 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss. He also had 8 quarterback pressures. Renaud had a 57.1 defensive grade from PFF in 2025. He had a 56.0 grade against the run and a 54.1 grade as a pass-rusher.
Renaud was the top option off the bench at what Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack calls the “Bandit” position on the defense. When LT Overton was forced to miss time late in the year, Renaud saw his role expand.
Renaud appeared in 3 games as a true freshman and 12 as a redshirt freshman. He had 14 tackles and 1.5 TFLs during the 2024 season.
Renaud is the 19th player to commit to transfer to Ole Miss, and the fourth defensive lineman. The Rebels will need players on the edge to step up this offseason following the transfer departure of Princewill Umanmielen on Thursday.
Derek Peterson does a bit of everything, not unlike Taysom Hill. He has covered Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Pac-12, and now delivers CFB-wide content.
