Ole Miss’s 2024 recruiting class is now a player lighter.

Trever Jackson, a quarterback from Orlando (Fla.) Jones High School, has de-committed from the Rebels. He announced the news on his X account on Sunday afternoon.

“After a discussion with my parents and coaches, I have made the difficult decision to decommit from the University of Mississippi,” Jackson wrote. “While I am grateful to Coach Lane (Kiffin) and the entire staff for the opportunity, I have determined it is best for my future to reopen my recruitment at this time.”

A 6-foot-2-and-a-half 185-pounder, Jackson is a 4-star recruit considered the No. 16 quarterback in the country by 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He is also rated as the No. 38 player in Florida.

His commitment to the Rebels lasted just over 2 months as he pledged on Aug. 26. Jackson’s offer sheet currently contains Maryland, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas A&M, and UCLA.

The Rebels’ 2024 recruiting class currently sits at No. 21 nationally. Jackson was their lone committed quarterback within the cycle.
