After mocking Kentucky, Steve Forbes loses center Olivier Sarr to Wildcats via transfer

Olivier Sarr has made his decision and it’s one Steve Forbes is really going to hate.
If you missed it, the new Wake Forest coach recently took a cheap shot at Kentucky during an appearance on the radio, offering up these comments in reference to his inherited big man being courted by John Calipari’s program.
“I think the most important thing is,” Forbes asked, “why would you go to Wake for three years, put all that time in for a prestigious degree, and end up getting your degree at a place like Kentucky?”
Turns out that comment is one Forbes may really want back as Sarr announced on Wednesday he will finish his college career in Lexington.
“I have decided to finish my career at the University of Kentucky and take on this challenge,” Sarr posted in the message below. “I want to think everyone for their kindness and respect in coming to this decision. I will always be a fan of Wake Forest. BBN, I can’t wait to get started.”
Sarr is not a graduate transfer so he will need a waiver if he hopes to play immediately for Kentucky next season. Wake Forest fired coach Danny Manning this offseason, which may give Sarr the reason he needs to be granted a waiver, but that will be determined in the months to come.
