Pat McAfee made a memorable pick for the Miami-Cal game on Saturday morning.
During the picks segment of College GameDay on Saturday in Berkeley, McAfee admitted he wanted to take the No. 8 Hurricanes to win outright on the road over Cal.
But he reversed course, explaining that he was caught up in the “Berkeley hype.”
“I’m caught up in it,” McAfee said after firing up the Cal crowd with their “Bear Territory” chant. “I’m caught up in the Berkley hype. It might be the air. It might be Marshawn. Give me Cal to beat Miami here in Berkley! Something I never thought I’d say in my entire life.”
Here’s video of the electric moment:
EVERYTHING IN MY FOOTBALL BRAIN TELLS ME MIAMI
I DON’T CARE
YOU KNOW IT
YOU TELL THE STORY
YOU TELL THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD

Marshawn Lynch, the guest picker and a legendary former Cal running back, also picked the Golden Bears to win on Saturday night. However, the other 3 GameDay analysts — Desmond Howard, Nick Saban and Kirk Herbstreit — are all going with the Canes. Lee Corso was under the weather and was not on set for GameDay this week.
This was GameDay’s first-ever trip to Cal, and it sure was a memorable one. McAfee also opened the show with an epic intro and a nod to all the Cal fans who showed up for this historic occasion.
Cal and Miami will kick off at 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
