For the past couple of seasons, former NFL punter Pat McAfee has been a contributor to ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturdays.

However, it seems his time with the popular program is coming to an end. Back in March, ESPN told its employees not to go on McAfee’s radio show, and it seems the rift is still there, though ESPN personalities are now able to go on the show again.

Speaking with Kirk Herbstreit on his show on Tuesday, McAfee said he enjoyed his time with the show, but he’s looking forward to some free time on Saturdays (via 247Sports):

“I loved my time with you guys. I absolutely enjoyed it,” McAfee told Herbstreit. “I’m very thankful that you allowed me into that world, everybody who was very nice to me that worked — I kind of feel like Aaron Rodgers with the Packers, though, you know what I mean? Like, I enjoyed the staff, I enjoyed my teammates, you know what I mean? There’s some other people.

“…That’s a show that doing it, you know, it’s like you’re in the TV. Because everybody watches — it’s an institution. Like, doing it is amazing. And having a conversation, you know, because our show Monday through Friday, money maker. So, traveling on Saturday, especially with Sunday NFL thing, like that is eating into my life where I could be potentially napping. But it’s a dream to do College Game Day, right?”

If McAfee is indeed not back on the show this fall, that means Tom Rinaldi, Maria Taylor and McAfee will all be gone in 2021.
