The long-awaited start to Arch Manning’s reign under center for Texas did not start the way that either he or the Longhorns would have liked, as the former top-ranked recruit struggled in the team’s 14-7 loss at the hands of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Manning looked uncomfortable throughout the game, which led to the Buckeyes’ stout defense limiting him to just 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception on the day.

Seeing the way Manning struggled after being the subject of such massive hype has led to some people looking rather foolish after making grandiose claims about how good he would be out of the gate, and one man in particular is taking it on the chin in this regard.

This would be SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum, who has spent the past few weeks saying that Manning would go into OSU and dominate right out of the gates.

Finebaum was obviously very wrong in this assessment, and just about everybody on X has been letting him know about it in rather hilarious fashion.

Here’s a selection of some of the best posts made in the immediate aftermath of Texas’ loss, making fun of how wrong Finebaum was:
