Tuesday night will be the latest reveal of the updated College Football Playoff rankings. But SEC Network analyst and radio host Paul Finebaum went ahead and released his top six teams.
Like many rankings from other people tied to college football, Finebaum’s saw their first major shakeup of the season as the third week of the official ranking is upon us.
Last week, Finebaum made some slight alterations from his first list that came out two weeks ago.
This week, Finebaum moved Alabama up one slot from No. 2 where he had the Crimson Tide last week, and Oklahoma up four spots to No. 2. The Sooners jumped Clemson, which was also fourth last week according to Finebaum. Finally, Miami moved from sixth to third this week.
Oklahoma impressed plenty of people after a 38-20 victory against TCU on Saturday. Alabama benefitted from Georgia’s loss at Auburn as it escaped a tough road game at Mississippi State with a game-winning touchdown with 25 seconds remaining.
Clemson, meanwhile, beat Florida State 31-14, while Miami garnered plenty of attention in prime time with a 41-8 win over Notre Dame.
The College Football Playoff ranking reveal is scheduled to be at 9 p.m. on ESPN.
