Paul Finebaum believes Georgia has just a little more margin for error than anybody else in the SEC, or college football for that matter, in 2024.
The Bulldogs already have 1 loss this season, falling at Alabama in that (so far) Game of the Year in Tuscaloosa. Georgia bounced back in Week 6 with a methodical if not overly impressive win over Auburn at home. After what looks on paper to be an easy win over Mississippi State at home in Week 7, the Bulldogs hit the road again for another titanic showdown with No. 1 Texas.
So, what if they lose again in Austin? Finebaum, who’s paid to analyze these things for ESPN, truly believes that not only can Georgia lose a 2nd game and still make the Playoff, that the Bulldogs can even lose 3 games and still somehow get in the inaugural 12-team derby.
“I think the only team in America that could possibly lose three games and get in the Playoff is Georgia,” said Finebaum on Tuesday during a discussion with UGAsports.com.

Time will tell if Georgia does indeed have such wiggle room, or if the Bulldogs’ drive for a 3rd national championship in 4 years will be denied by the Playoff committee in December.
