The Clemson Tigers entered the 2025 season with national championship aspirations and a roster absolutely loaded with NFL talent, but all of the optimism the team entered the season with has long since faded away along with any hope at making a run at a third national title under head coach Dabo Swinney.
Now currently sitting at 3-4 overall and holding a 2-3 record in ACC play, the frustration and criticism that has been leveled at Swinney due to his team’s lackluster on-field performance has grown to deafening levels from both fans and analyst alike.
SEC Network host Paul Finebaum became the latest media personality to level some very blunt criticism towards the longtime Clemson head coach on Monday, blasting Swinney on Monday’s episode of First Take on ESPN.
“The trend lines have been there that he has really lost control of the program,” Finebaum said. “Many people thought he had it back. A lot of people picked Clemson to win the title. He had Klubnik, who many people thought would be the No. 1 draft choice, but they lost that LSU game and it’s been straight downhill ever since… There’s nobody who believes that Dabo Swinney is going to win another national title at Clemson again. I frankly think he needs to find an exit strategy, because Dabo, your time is up.”
