Paul Finebaum is often a mouthpiece for the SEC.

On Wednesday morning, the ESPN college football analyst went on Get Up and told host Mike Greenberg that Georgia fans have the right to be very angry over the latest College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday night.

When the 3rd edition of the rankings were revealed, Georgia was at No. 10, moving up 2 spots after last Saturday night’s 31-17 victory over Tennessee that revived its season. All good, right?

Well, not according to Finebaum, who is looking at the fact that the Bulldogs are still 2 spots behind No. 8 Miami. The Hurricanes only have 1 loss, but it was to Georgia Tech on Nov. 9 before they had a bye in Week 12. Finebaum believes Georgia’s total resume, especially its brutal schedule, should have the Bulldogs a little higher than 10th.

“Every time I get on here every Wednesday morning, I say to myself, ‘calm down, don’t be an angry guy.’ But this committee is not serious. There are football coaches on this committee, and there is no way those football coaches can tell me or anyone else with a straight face that they really think that Indiana, Penn State, Miami are better than Georgia. It’s not possible,” said Finebaum.

Georgia is 8-2 and still has home games against Massachusetts this Saturday and against that same Georgia Tech team that beat Miami in Week 14.
