Paul Finebaum has heard all kinds of rumblings of where coaches are going to end up this offseason. Some of the best jobs in the country are open in LSU, Penn State, Florida and Auburn among many others.
According to Finebaum, one coach to keep an eye on is Lincoln Riley, as he said he has heard some rumors about him leaving USC this offseason.
“One other name Matt, and I have been critical of this guy, but he has done a really good job this year of keeping his program together and that is Lincoln Riley,” Finebaum said on the Matt Barrie Show. “I’m not just say this to say it. I keep hearing whispers that he could be in play. It is good for him that his name is back in the picture again. He is still one of those names you could announce at a press conference and people would go ‘Oh wow’.”
Riley has USC on the outside looking in at the College Football Playoff race, as the Trojans are currently 7-2. However, they have games against Iowa and Oregon the next two weeks, which could go a long way in helping them make a run to the CFP.
There are going to be a lot of names thrown out the next few weeks for coaching jobs. However, if Riley is a legitimate candidate for available coaching jobs, then it could be an even-wilder offseason.
