That wasn’t a great way to end the 2017 season for the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn lost to UCF in the Peach Bowl Monday afternoon 34-27, and with Gus Malzhan having signed an extension to remain at Auburn (over going to Arkansas), Tigers fans probably aren’t too excited about it.
The Tigers lost two straight games to end the season, the SEC Championship and the Peach Bowl, and Malzahn isn’t going anywhere. With the win, UCF finishes the season as the nation’s only undefeated team.
Here’s how media members and fans reacted:
As for Auburn, this game personifies why so many Tiger fans are still ambivalent about Gus Malzahn. Not great consistency from AU.

As UCF is about to pull ahead of Auburn in the fourth quarter, a reminder that they just guaranteed Gus Malzahn $49 million

It'd be a new kind of genius level thing for Gus Malzahn to start on the hot seat, get off it by beating Bama, then ending up back on it for losing two in a row to finish the season

Has Gus Malzahn already signed the bazillion dollar contract? He might need to make sure it’s not invisible ink.

Crazy to say but Gus Malzahn could be on the hot seat one year into his 7-year extension if things go south next season. Tigers open 2018 vs. Washington in Atlanta and travel to Georgia and Alabama,

@GusMalzahn when the running game is no longer effective, stop. Pass. Score. #PeachBowl
