Peter Burns discusses Georgia’s ‘gold standard’ in college football, why ‘it doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop anytime soon’

Peter Burns helmed the SEC Network’s coverage of Georgia’s appearance in the College Football Playoff national championship game against TCU, watching the action from the network’s Charlotte studios.
It wasn’t much of a contest as the Bulldogs absolutely rolled the Horned Frogs for a 2nd straight national championship. Georgia’s schedule in 2023 could set it up for a 3rd straight title, and from there, the sky could be the limit under Kirby Smart.
“The new gold standard of college football has a ‘G’ on its helmet,” Burns said on SiriusXM Radio on Tuesday. “Back-to-back [championship] seasons, the most dominant win in the history of the BCS/College Football Playoff era, the largest bowl game [win] ever, and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop anytime soon.”
How many national championships will Georgia win under Kirby Smart? He continues to recruit at a high level and is seeming to reload, rather than rebuild.
It’s clear that the Bulldogs are leaving not just SEC programs in the dust, but the rest of college football, as well.
