Phil Steele’s Week 1 Vegas Power Rankings have four SEC teams in Top 10

Phil Steele, the man behind the great cross-country flight reading material ‘Phil Steele’s College Football Magazine’, is no longer collaborating with ESPN, but he’s still going to release his weekly “Vegas Power Rankings”.
As Steele describes the rankings, it’s not a poll, but rather a ranking to see which team would be favored on a neutral field and by how much.
To the shock of no one and possible anger of Nick Saban, Alabama is at the top spot with a ranking of 138.00. Ohio State is second at 135.93. That means that Alabama would be a two-point favorite over the Buckeyes if they met on a neutral field.
Sorry for the additional rat poison coach.
Georgia (134.08), Clemson (125.95), Texas A&M (124.59), Michigan (123.62), Notre Dame (123.57), Tennessee (122.75), Utah (122.29) and Oklahoma (121.59) round out the top ten.
The rest of the SEC breaks down as such:
No. 17 Arkansas (118.19)
No. 25 Mississippi (116.15)
No. 26 Kentucky (115.90)
No. 28 Mississippi State (115.57)
No. 31 Auburn (114.67)
No. 33 Florida (114.41)
No. 40 LSU (112.56)
No. 51 South Carolina (109.45)
No. 59 Missouri (107.31)
No. 100 Vanderbilt (97.61)
