One of the best Tennessee reads prior to the start of the season is the TimesFreePress‘ interview with former Vols’ coach Phillip Fulmer.
Fulmer finished his Tennessee career winning 74.5 percent (152-52) of his games. So, how many games does he think Tennessee will win this season?
When asked about Tennessee’s over/under at eight games, Fulmer responded, “I would go there or over eight.”
Furthermore, Fulmer weighed in on Tennessee’s chances to win the SEC East.
“If things happen just right — Georgia is an interesting team, and we’ve been really close every year that Butch has been here,” Fulmer said. “If we were to get them, then we would have a real opportunity, because I don’t think the (SEC) East is great.”
College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit said Tuesday on the Finebaum Show that he’s leaning towards Tennessee in the SEC East, too.
